Mike Monteleone, born in Cleveland in 1949, is a graduate of John Carroll University and has been licensed to practice law in Ohio since 1974. He received his law degree with honors from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Since co-founding Jeffries & Monteleone in 1980 (later changed to Jeffries, Kube, Forrest & Monteleone), he has practiced exclusively in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice. He has more than 30 years of trial experience. He has devoted his practice to the representation of seriously injured people and their families. He has successfully represented clients confronted with terrible adversity. Examples include a 33 year old computer programmer brain damaged by a drunken driver; a 41 year old husband and father whose cancer went undiagnosed; wrongful death of a 17 year old mother and her fetus caused by medical negligence; and the death of an 8 year old boy who was misdiagnosed with appendicitis when he really had pneumonia. He has a specialized interest in representing families who have lost their young children to medical negligence and other misconduct. Settlements for these families have helped relieve some of the "blame" often placed on them, and the "guilt" associated with death of a child.

Mike Monteleone has been married to Diane Marie since 1982. He is the father of Carrie Ann, Michael, Christopher and Alyssa.

Mike Monteleone has been selected to the Best Lawyers in America from 1995 - 2011, and has been selected to Ohio Super Lawyers 2004 -2011 and one of the Top 100 in 2005 - 2009. He is a Past President of the Ohio Association for Justice (formerly Ohio Association of Trial Lawyers) (1999) and a member of the prestigious International Society of Barristers and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist since 1983. He frequently lectures to attorneys in his primary field of specialty, medical negligence.

Probably the most difficult aspect of any personal injury case is determining the value of the case in settlement. When you are injured as the result of the negligence of another person, such as an automobile accident or a fall or a defective product, you may be entitled to compensation. Under the law of Ohio, compensation is based upon the loss and damages suffered as a result of the carelessness of another person or company.
